AMREF Health Africa runs one of the continent's most comprehensive community health worker programmes. But in South Sudan, their entire curriculum existed only on paper — binders that field workers couldn't carry, couldn't update, and couldn't access during emergencies.
With sporadic internet connectivity and limited device availability, a standard LMS rollout wasn't an option. The content needed to work offline, on low-end smartphones, and in Juba Arabic and English.
Offline-first modules built for the field.
Sani Solutions conducted a full curriculum audit and co-design workshop with AMREF's field trainers. We restructured 400 hours of training into modular, bite-sized SCORM units built in Articulate Rise — designed for mobile-first delivery and offline download.
Each module included scenario-based branching activities drawn from real field situations, translated voiceovers in Juba Arabic, and low-bandwidth-optimised video. We also trained AMREF's internal team to maintain and update modules independently going forward.
