Child Safeguarding Training

Mandatory training that nobody was completing.

World Vision required all frontline humanitarian staff to complete mandatory child safeguarding training. Their existing training was a 60-page PDF manual. Completion rates were below 20% — and where it was completed, retention was low.

The content itself was sensitive, complex, and high-stakes. It needed to change behaviour, not just tick a compliance box. And it needed to work for staff across very different contexts — from office-based programme managers to field workers in active emergency zones.

Scenario-first design that forces real decisions.

Sani Solutions rebuilt the entire safeguarding curriculum using a scenario-based learning approach. Instead of presenting policy, learners were placed in realistic situations and had to make decisions — with branching consequences that reflected real-world outcomes.

We produced documentary-style video vignettes filmed in Accra, scripted with World Vision safeguarding officers, and structured into 5 SCORM-compliant modules with a final role-play assessment. The full programme runs in under 3 hours.
